Apple has a useful feature on the iPhone that lets you report spam and unwanted text messages. Regular text messages are not supported; only iMessage communications are covered by this functionality.
By doing this, the message will be promptly deleted and reported to Apple as spam. To accomplish this, click Report Junk after selecting the message under Messages.
